"FRIENDS AND NEIGHBORS" NOW AVAILABLE FOR HOOSIERSWe are proud to announce “Friends and Neighbors,” a new, ground breaking online tool to help working folks like us activate and energize other working families around political campaigns, legislative issues and to hold elected officials accountable is now up and running in Indiana. Friends and Neighbors, or FAN for short, is both a phone-banking and e-mailing tool that works best when you sign-in using Facebook. With your permission, the tool matches your Facebook friends with voter registration records and instantly creates a call-list for you to contact your friends and neighbors to talk about what’s at stake in the 2012 elections. The FAN also provides a sample script for talking about the election -- including information on Indiana AFL-CIO endorsed candidates John Gregg and Joe Donnelly -- and allows you to record responses that can be used to help turn out the vote in November. It's an incredibly easy way to do your part from home, or anywhere. Click here to give Friends and Neighbors a try now. If you don’t have a Facebook account, you can still use Friends and Neighbors by registering with the Friends and Neighbors website at www.fan.workersvoice.org With just a few weeks to go before Election Day, the Indiana AFL-CIO is asking you the give this new tool a try and to help us spread the word. We must do everything we can to ensure that we turn out every voter possible and elect worker friendly candidates up and down the ballot!
